The tiles
found me.
Dallas-based mahjong educator, league coordinator, and firm believer that this game is supposed to be fun.
By day, Sarah is a commercial real estate attorney in Dallas. By night — and most weekends — she’s at the table.
Sarah has been playing mahjong for more than five years and teaching formally since 2023. Something about the game clicked from the start: the strategy, the ritual, the way four strangers can sit down and become a table.
She co-founded the Oak Cliff Society of Mahjong and has spent the better part of three years building a mahjong community rooted in her neighborhood. Two active leagues. Hundreds of players. A lot of tiles.
Her teaching philosophy is simple: this is a game, and games are supposed to be fun. Every lesson is hands-on from the first minute. No overwhelm, no intimidation — just tiles, good company, and enough structure to make it all make sense.
Sarah teaches by NMJL rules and specializes in making the complex feel approachable — for absolute beginners, groups of friends who want to start playing together, or anyone who’s been “almost learning” mahjong for years.
play cheeky. play well.
